BUILDING A
BLUEPRINT
FOR IMPACT

A replicable framework to finance community impact

We bring organizations, finance & storytelling together to create collective impact within communities.

The Blueprint in Action! Enjoy a sneak peak of our Documentary Blueprint Appalachia

Blueprint Appalachia is a documentary that follows our model in motion—

telling the story of regional recovery and regenerative innovation across sectors.

HURRICANE HELENE DEVASTATED OUR REGION

Without timely investment, full restoration could take years—intensifying wildfire risk, degrading soil and food systems, and weakening the regional economy.

40% CANOPY LOSS

Hurricane Helene demolished the region’s forests, increasing wildfire risk and habitat loss.

FRENCH BROAD RIVER IN DANGER

One of the oldest rivers in the world is now ranked the 3rd most endangered in the U.S. (2025).

3.8 BILLION ECONOMY AT RISK

The French Broad River Basin supports an annual economic impact of $3.8 billion, with 6.9 million visitors and 38,554 jobs tied to river-related activities.

SOIL & WATER DEGRADATION

Deforestation and runoff have led to sharp increases in sediment pollution and nutrient loading.

OUR BLUEPRINT IN ACTION

We create Collaboration Portfolios -
multi-stakeholder projects supported by:

Collective Funding Package

We bundle each project with tailored financial strategies, making it easy for funders to invest in community-driven solutions with real, measurable impact.

Impact Stories & Documentary

Our short-form Impact Stories and our feature documentary, Blueprint Appalachia, spotlight real projects from our Collaboration Portfolios, bringing visibility, trust, and funding to regenerative solutions. It’s storytelling with purpose: designed to inspire action and show the Blueprint in motion.

A National Speaking Tour
& Visibility Campaign

We take the Blueprint on the road to connect with schools, funders, and communities through events that spark dialogue, build networks, and inspire replication.

Six Flagship Projects

Biochar Project
Turning downed trees into biochar to reduce wildfire risk, restore soil, and sequester carbon.

AMP Grazing
Implementing regenerative grazing practices to rebuild soil health and strengthen regional food systems.

Community-Owned Microeconomies
Supporting equitable local businesses with shared retail, food, and wellness infrastructure.

Produce to the People
Partnering with local farms and clinics to make nutritious food accessible and prevent chronic illness.

Kids in Parks
Expanding access to nature and place-based learning through doctor-prescribed outdoor programs.

LEAF Global Arts
Investing in cultural preservation and youth empowerment through arts education and global exchange.

Together, these projects form a living system, where impact is measurable, stories are powerful,

and solutions are designed to scale.

This is our Blueprint: a collaborative model for regional resilience and long-term regeneration.

Collaboration Portfolios

We believe regeneration happens when diverse sectors unite. Our Collaboration Portfolios are designed to bring together high-impact projects across soil, water, food, health, culture, and economy because no part of a thriving community exists in isolation.

Our current portfolio includes six pilot projects that demonstrate what’s possible when we align local leadership, innovative financing, and powerful storytelling.

Each project is a seed, designed to grow, replicate, and ripple across the region and beyond.

Why Bioregions Matter

Bioregions reflect the natural systems that sustain life—watersheds, ecosystems, and communities that are ecologically and culturally connected. By working at the bioregional scale, we can design solutions that are more responsive, resilient, and rooted in the realities of place.

We are based in Asheville, North Carolina at the heart of the French Broad River Basin: a region deeply impacted by Hurricane Helene. The storm revealed a powerful truth:

what happens upstream affects everyone downstream. This is why our work, while centered in Asheville, is designed to serve the entire bioregion.

Impact is the new ROI.

We follow the globally recognized 4 Returns model, rethinking “return on investment” as a return on impact to build systems that are regenerative, not extractive.

Return on Inspiration

Giving people hope and a sense of purpose

Return on Ecology

Restoring biodiversity and soils for healthy and resilient landscapes

Social return

Bringing back jobs, education and social connections

Financial return

Realizing long-term sustainable income for communities

WE'RE A PART OF THE

2025 BIOFI CULTIVATOR.

Blueprint for Impact is honored to have been invited to be a part of the first-ever  2025 BioFi Cultivator, a groundbreaking initiative that brings together 21 bioregional teams across South, Central, and North America and Hawai’i. We will collaborate with other visionaries to design and implement the world’s first Bioregional Financing Facilities (BFFs) - innovative systems reconnecting funding to the communities it serves.

This five-month program will deepen our capacity to address systemic challenges in the French Broad Watershed bioregion, leveraging collective expertise, funding networks, and regenerative principles. Our participation underscores the significance of our work and empowers us to co-create a model for ecological and economic resilience that can ripple across the globe.
