BLUEPRINT
FINANCING FRAMEWORK
FINANCING COMMUNITY-BASED
SOLUTIONS
At Blueprint for Impact, we believe organizational leaders within our own community have the solutions to rebuild and revitalize our landscapes and community. What's missing is the capacity to collectively come together, finance, and make visible these solutions to help them spread.
Our Collective Funding Model activates public, private, and philanthropic capital to move high-impact projects forward faster.
Every project we fund is backed by strategic storytelling, strong partnerships, and clear agreements designed to deliver measurable results and long-term community benefit.

Our Framework Design
Designed through bioregional collaboration.
This funding model was developed through our participation in the BioFi Cultivator, a cohort-based learning journey that brought together 21 bioregional teams from across the Americas to develop and scale bioregional financing facilities.
Over several months, we studied innovative financing strategies designed for ecological, social, and economic regeneration. Our model, built around Collaboration Portfolios backed by storytelling was shaped through this experience.
OUR FUNDING FRAMEWORK
PROJECT IDENTIFIED
A regional project with systemic value selected for development.
Examples: wildfire mitigation, soil restoration, outdoor recreation revitalization, or health.
STAKEHOLDERS ENGAGED
We identify the ecosystem of stakeholders with a vested interest in the project’s success. Examples: government agencies, utilities, farmers, NGOs, and community-based organizations.

Each Collaboration Portfolio is developed into a funding-ready package, complete with budgets, partners, and impact goals designed for alignment with foundations, private investors, and public funders.
Every funding package is paired with a short-form Impact Story and featured in our Blueprint Appalachia documentary + speaking tour, increasing transparency, excitement, and investment opportunities.

THE NEW ROI: THE 4 RETURNS
As the project yields results, we track the Four Returns:
-
Social Return: stronger communities, equity, wellbeing
-
Natural Return: restored land, cleaner water, healthier ecosystems
-
Financial Return: investor repayment or cost savings
-
Inspirational Return: community pride, shared vision, hope
PROFITS RECYCLED
A portion of financial returns:
-
Goes back to investors (if for-profit), or
-
Flows into the Blueprint for Impact Fund to regenerate future projects
WHY IT WORKS
Multi-Stakeholder Buy-In
Everyone with a stake in the outcome is part of the funding model, ensuring shared risk, shared benefit, and long-term alignment.
Accelerated Timelines
Upfront funding from investors and funders helps projects move faster, while community partners receive sustained support.
Visibility = Investment
Every funding package is supported by a public-facing narrative, giving investors, funders, and community members a reason to believe and a story to share.

Let’s Build Together
We’re actively seeking funding partners, regional stakeholders, and aligned institutions to join us in scaling this model across the Southern Appalachians and beyond.
